Times have changed for the better especially as the WordPress platform now allows you to run an UNLIMITED number of blogs from just ONE installation of its great software platform on one Domain.
All people are required to do is to configure the appropriate options within the WordPress program to facilitate the multi-site interface and hey presto you become the administrator of a network of blogs!
You’re not complicating your life because ALL the options remain the same. With the multi-site option appropriately configured you are then able to add the extra blogs and domains. But the pluses don’t end there either.
You can even now allow registered users of your Web site to host their own blogs in your network.
Many of you long-term users of WordPress (prior to Version 3) will recall the MU (the separate piece of software which allowed people to run multiple sites off WordPress). Well the people that recall MU and used it now need to forget about it because its no longer around – its been incorporated into WordPress V3!
Now you may not feel comfortable at first allowing users of your network to run their own blog sites within your installation of WordPress? Dont worry though because they will have access to their own Dashboard with the same characteristics and choices you get to enjoy –they wont be interfering with any settings on your Dashboard.
You will find that once you start blogging, once you have one blog, that before too long something happens – they multiply! Its just like cooking rice (a friend said) you might start out with a little, but when you cook it just multiplies.
Is there anything wrong with multiplying the number of sites you have, intrinsically NO but make sure you have enough time in the day to invest in each site the appropriate amount of time it needs and deserves. Otherwise you are doing yourself and your readers/visitors a dis-service.
