Moving your Blog to WordPress
Either want to or need to move? Want to move your current blogging site to WordPress or to a new Host or into a different account than the one you now have it on? Well, you’re in luck because with the tools and know how that WordPress provides doing so is neither hard nor complicated.
Yes, WordPress makes it relatively trouble free to move from one blog platform to its own platform. While allowing you the ability to move from other platforms such as Blogspot, TypePad and Movable Type, to WordPress – in addition it gives you the very nifty alternative of being able to migrate from any platform via RSS feeds (as long as of course the platform you wish to move from has RSS feeds available for you to utilise).
Some platforms do not provide this feature while others have limitations on RSS availability. Even if you are undecided at this stage (whether to move or not) it will pay you to investigate the possibilities so you will be prepared and ready to go when you either decide to move or are forced to for some reason.
Note too that WordPress provides importer plugins for specific sites.
The ability that wonderful WordPress gives you to quickly and easily install plugins to allow you to import and use your content immediately is much to be treasured and valued.
The importers are packaged in the plugin format for the simple reason that many people use the importer once only and some users don’t utilise the tools at all. Its great to know that they are there for you if you want or need them.
But generally why do people move from one site to another – to WordPress.
