How to Find the right WordPress Plugins
Looking for a Plugin that will write your site’s content for you? Well you may look but you wont find – BUT the good news is that that is about the only task you wont find covered by a Plugin for as WordPress has just on 10,000 separate ones for use!
Now in, and of itself, WordPress is an extremely versatile pretty easy to use Web distributing solution but with the use of the right plugins it can do almost anything at all you may desire it to do.
The first bit of good news here in relation to Plugins with WordPress and to using WordPress generally, is that its administrative interface (the Dashboard) is very easy to reach and truly intuitive to use. And that is exactly where you will find a long long listing of Plugins and how and where you load them.
Simply get onto your fave web browser, enter the URL for your blog or site followed by /wp-login.php. If your site uses the URL http://www.bbc.com you would type http://www.bbc.com/wp-login.php. Easy to follow isn’t it?
Then when your WordPress login page appears just enter both your administrator user name and password. DO ALWAYS MAKE SURE though (for security reasons) to change your Admin Account user name to something uniquely meaningful for you – this will ensure far greater security for your WordPress.
Then to actually find the Plugins the steps are so so easy. Firstly, log into the Dashboard, then ‘Choose Plugins: Add New’. You will see a number of selections, including a search box – if this is the way you wish to go (you’re searching for something specific) simply enter in a term, click the plugin search button and hey presto you end up with a list of plugins that match that term.
You will note on the aforementioned page a list of other terms (aside from ‘Search’) you’ll see ‘Featured’ and ‘Popular’ amongst them – which are helpful if you’re not sure what you’re actually after. More details later.
