Just in case you’ve forgotten, or weren’t aware, WordPress releases an upgrade on its platform approximately every four months. YOU DO NEED to remain up to date, most importantly for security reasons, but obviously also so that you can take advantage of the very latest that the WordPress platform has to offer you.
Times have changed for the better especially as the WordPress platform now allows you to run an UNLIMITED number of blogs from just ONE installation of its great software platform on one Domain.
You all know that using WordPress.org requires us to download the software from the WordPress site. But did you realise that the WordPress site is not just about downloading the basic software – it also has a great collection of tools as well as resources. Full of items that cant help but improve your WordPress experience.
Naturally enough, when you install a plugin, that plugin must be activated (switched on) in WordPress before it can be used. It’s a very simple one-click process which is done inside the WP Dashboard.
Justifiably Matt Mullenweg (the original developer or WordPress) was very proud to announce in 2005 that the number of Downloads marked up to WordPress at that stage was over the 900,000 mark BUT you can imagine what he felt in 2006 when it reached well over 1 Million, and in 2007 more than 3 Million.
